IATAN claimed they filed suit to preserve the integrity of agency discounts and their logo, but this was a façade. In retrospect, IATAN only cared about preserving their monopoly on travel agency ID cards. IATAN smelled a competitive threat when its member carriers began accepting the GATE ID. IATAN didn’t like competitive threats.....
