Lufthansa would ask its most loyal flyers to pay $8,000 or more for first class while selling the same seat to agency owners for $2,000 ($8,000 less than 75% agency discount).
The term was and remains the "AD75" which remains active in the 21st century.
Agency owners commonly traded owners' discounts for investment. Rather than spending $50,000 or more a year on airline tickets, we'd pitch a friend to use that same $50,000 to buy a minority interest in our agency. The friend recouped their investment by accessing luxury travel for less. Over 5 years, the initial $50,000 yielded over $200,000 in saving.
Using AD75's & travel agency discounts to raise capital, without using hidden city ticketing, we rebranded the airlines term into "Wanna fly first class like an owner?"
