By December 1999 the past didn't matter- it was all about the future. My business suddenly had an $18 million valuation and nobody cared about the petty claims of the past. A year earlier, Peter Pan of Korean Air was trying to collect over $1 million in phony fare differences. Now he was saying, "Wabort, Let Bygones be Bygones!" A few days after closing, I flew to Singapore first class before continuing on to Sydney to ring in the new millennium, ironically where my Involuntary Reroute began. I was facing Darling Harbour surrounded by the Babson College Swim Team and alumni community with millions in the bank and commitments for more. The clock struck midnight, the 21st century began, and fireworks lit up the Sydney sky. The air was filled with optimism- everything and anything seemed possible. Late economist and Babson professor Larry Moss created and taught a course entitled Processes of Technological Change. Professor Moss said technology always wins out, but never had the opportunity to see how right he was. The Future is So Bright!
